Maybe we could get a board or an area for traditional games? If you're unfamiliar with it, this mostly consists of Tabletop RPGs played with pen, paper, and dice. I ask because the traditional games section on that other chan has become so westaboo that it's become impossible to field ideas.

Even if you don't have a vested interest already, TRPGs are a good way to spend time with other users, pursue even more escapism, put your idle mind to use, and curb the ronery. Some of them are very easy to learn, too, and I'd be happy to teach.

I dunno if it would warrant it's own board. Maybe it's something that could slip into /vg/?

Pic related, the best tabletop RPG I have ever played.

Maid is an awesome RPG and it's a shame that I don't get to play it much. I'm very bad/unlucky at it, though.

You might be right about /vg/. I'd just be happy if there was a place where it could be discussed and maybe become popular among those who haven't tried it yet.

At the very least you could always resort to /ot/.

Honestly, Tohno-chan seems like the place where you could arrange some IRC TRPG sessions if you tried.

IRC and the Maptools program have been my main methods for gaming for a while now, so that suits me just fine and is probably good for arranging games amongst ourselves. /ot/ does sound like a good place to have it until interest dies or a board is made.

I agree with this.

Ymir was the main reason to watch QB, and perhaps one of the only ones. Too bad she was always onscreen with that cowbeast.

Am I the only one who always hated how /tg/ never ever talked about board games? I LOVE all sorts of board games. I buy them regularly and always follow all new releases, especially by Matagot (I admit it, I'm a sucker for some chrome; but I also enjoy abstract euros). Then again, I have never really played most of them as I have no friends (why do I have to like board games so much if I can never play them?) and playing them online isn't appealing to me.

As for TRPGs I played some long ass time ago (D&D of course) but again, even though I don't have anyone I could play with I still sort of follow new releases (I got into the indie scene some time ago and I've got to admit, there are some brilliant indie RPGs out there). But I'm not too sure whether I'd like to play TRPGs over the 'net as it seems it would take away most of their charm. Maybe I would be interested in some nWoD if we could form a small group but other then that I'll probably just follow them without joining. Good luck with that, OP.

Oh, and we could talk abotu mahjongg (and some other traditional board games I guess) if a /tg/ board was created.

It's certainly an interesting idea and the subject isn't bad by any means.
I just wonder if people have any interest in it, enough to actually generate real traffic.
In the time we've been up, I can't say I've ever seen anyone bring up the subject at all.
As nice as an idea for a board might be, if only two people are ever going to post on it, there's not really a need for it.
If that thread on /ot/ gets more then a handful of posts, sure, I'll add it on.

also, you might be wondering why I added on /br/ with little convincing, well that's just a joke board and won't make it to the site maps, just to clarify.
